    "Fam. 3. Capt. Samuel,4 (Samuel,3 Henry,2 Jr., Mr. Henry,1), b. 1G79, when a youth, lived much with his uncle, Josiah, Esq., of Salem, Mass., but the dth. Of his father (Samuel's) devolved upon him, at the age of 16, much of the care of his young bros. and sisters, and interrupted his plans for his own education. He became an importing mcht.; was prominent in military affairs and was a rich man for his day—his est. invent, amt'g to £5,097-2-10. … Capt, Samuel d. 15 Sept., 1734. … [His wife] rec'd by her husband's will all the estate, which she bro't to him at her marr. and 1/3 of his movable est.; the rest of his ppy. was divid. equally betw. his ch.; his s. Elisha had £60 less than his equal share, 'in regard to his advancement in a trade;' his 2 daus. had $100 each and Rev. Wm. Burnham, of Kens., and Mr. John Stillman, of Weth., were 'entreated' to be overseers of the will."
