Was a soldier in the expedition that went from Somers to Havana 1762, when that city was taken by the English. He died, possibly of yellow fever.

His brother David was appointed administrator of his estate on 05 March 1763. On 05 September 1763, Elizabeth the widow of Samuel Wardwell was appointed guardian for five of their minor children: Return, Isaac, Elizabeth, Mary and David -A family history : Recording the ancestors of Russell Snow Hitchcock : Hitchcock, Russell Snow, Bath, Me. 1947
