"Samuel Starr—son of Capt. Josiah 391, Thomas 7, Dr. Comfort 1,—b. about 1700, in Danbury. In May, 1726, he petitions the General Assembly for a £5 note to replace a counterfeit one he had taken, which petition was generously granted. He, with his brothers Josiah and Comfort, took a loan from the State, and in 1741 petition for the balance of the notes promised them. He was an extensive landholder in partnership with his brothers, owning land in Danbury, Kent, &c. His will was dated Dec. 4, and he d. Dec. 29, 1744, æ. 44; buried in the old cemetery in D. A time-worn stone marks the spot. His estate amounted to over £3,000, as by the inventory taken the Feb. following."
