    Samuel Abner Reimert, 80, brother of the late William D. Reimert, former president and executive editor of Call-Chronical Newspapers, died Sunday in his Pompano Beach home. He was the husband of Alda (Lauck) Reimert.
    He was affiliated with Keyes Real Estate, Pompano Beach.
    A graduate of Mercersburg Academy and Ursinus College, he was in the personal finance business for about 45 years. He first was an employee of the Beneficial Finance Co. in several area offices and manager of the Mount Carmel office, Northumberland County.
    In 1940, he formed his own firm, Popular Finance Co., Mount Carmel, and in 1951, opened a second office in Huntingdon, Huntingdon County. He resided in Huntingdon until moving to Pompano Beach in 1973.
    Born in Kuiling, China, he was a son of the late Rev. William A. and Mary A. (Snyder) Reimert, both formerly of the Lynn Township area. He was the first of three children borm in China where his father was president of Huping Christian College at Yochow, Hunan Province.
    Rev. Reimert was killed in 1920 by Chinese bandit-soldiers as he was trying to protect the women and children seeking refuge in the mission compound. When the family returned to this country later that year, they made their home in Allentown for 15 years.
    Samuel Reimert was a member of the United Methodist Church, Huntingdon.
    He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner and past exalted ruler of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks.
    Surviving with his widow are two sisters, Marguerite Helwig, wife of Raymond T. Pearson Sr., and Mrs. Kathryn King, both of Rydal Park, Rydal, Montgomery County.
    Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 4 in the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
