"Samuel2 Marsh b. at Hartford, Ct., about 1645, son of John1 Marsh and Anne (Webster) Marsh, da.. of Governor and Agnes Webster, when 15 or 16 removed in 1660 to Hadley, Mass., with his parents. … He made his home just across the Connecticut river, north, in what was then Hadley but soon became Hatfield. He was a weaver. … Became freeman in 1690, was selectman 1695, 1697, 1700, and 1705;and in 1706 was made representative to Massachusetts legislature; was also in 1706 selectman and made deacon and was selectman 1708, 1709, 1711 and 1713. … [died] Sept. 7. 1728, æ. 83."
