  5. Source:Davis, William T. Ancient Landmarks of Plymouth, p. 179, does not appear to list the first son Samuel, probably unaware of the gravestone, does show the second Samuel b. 1732, but then after listing Abiel (whom he was apparently unaware was posthumous), adds "and Samuel again". So while he seems to name the right number of children, it is done in a way that is incorrect and misleading. It is possible he was confused by an identically named couple who had children in Plympton at a later time: Deacon Samuel Lucas (s/o Joseph) and Abigail Shaw (d/o John), who married 1749 and had a son Samuel in 1752?
