Notes from Helen Howard: "I received the following information from his Civil War Records: Samuel Loughner's post war career was checkered to say the least. After the war Samuel became a drifter. Sometime after 1870 he left Greensburg and surfaced in Emporia, KS. There he married Melissa D. Roth. She died in childbirth. In 1881 he married 21 year old Josephine Smith of St. Joseph, MO. There is no record of death or divorce from Josephine. He then went to Uquivo, Mexico and married a 14 year old girl, Luz Landabozo. She had seven children to him."[rewarren.ged]
