Helen Howard's Notes: "Samuel was killed while crossing the railroad tracks in Manor, or perhaps Penn Station. Was hard of hearing. Samuel served in the Civil War as a teamster. He was well known for his ability to handle horses. It was said he could handle sixteen horses at one time. He is supposedly buried in Brush Creek cemetery, but I could not find him. There was at one time a marker. When you come out the door of the church, cross the road and go 20 feet or so in the cemetery. Stories from Rebecca's grandson Harry Good in conversation in 1979."[rewarren.ged]

    Inscription:
There is no record of Samuel Loughner buried at Brush Creek Cemetery but family talks of Samuel Loughner being buried just on the other side of the old gate that used to be in Brush Creek Cemetery. Right across from the Church. The gate and tombstone are long gone.
