In the 1880 census, Samuel & Margaret Keffer are in the family of Rachel & Lewis Huffman. Rachel Keffer married Lewis Huffman in 1877. I am unable to determine whether Rachel was a single mother or widow when she married Lewis Huffman. She is listed in the 1870 census as 15 years, living with Hughes family. If she was a Hughes, the age must be wrong, because Samuel was born 3 years earlier. She may have been a second wife of Henry Keffer who married Isabelle Sumpter.
