    [Note: Secondary sources seem confused about his death date. Many simply say he died in 1799. A perfect place for Find A Grave to show its usefulness, but not atypically, the memorial there has no picture, so for all we know, they could have copied their date out of the first book they found, such as the easily accessible Source:Dwight, Benjamin Woodbridge. History of the Descendants of Elder John Strong, of Northampton, Mass, Vol. 2, p. 1176, which has the 24 Aug 1799 date. A Boy Scout project (here), presumably having no knowledge other than what they see on the gravestone, gives 24 Aug 1799, so is probably correct.]
