Samuel Davis listed in 1850 &1860 census in Bradford, Merrimack, NH. There is also a Samuel Davis, Jr. listed in the 1860 census. His card is on file in Warner Historical Society listing wife as Betsy Harriman Davis.

Name, Death date & age verification taken from headstone in New Pond Cemetery, Bradford, NH. Information given in draft of Early Families of Bradford, NH. says Samuel lived at the south end of Lake Massasecum near the Warner Town line. The home is currently (2000) owned by Rick & Judy Curless. They have updated much of the home built ca 1810 but have kept "Sam's Room" much as it was originally.

According to Willie Earle Davis, Charles Davis II (son of Gilbert Davis) served under "his uncle" Sam Davis, Jr. during Civil War." Samuel Davis, Jr. of Merrimack, NH that served in the military as noted by Walter Harriman in his book THE HISTORY OF WARNER, NH 1735-1879."
