    The will of Samuel Clark of Washington, dated Dec. 16, 1793, proved Mar. 25, 1794, mentioned his wife, eldest son Samuel, sons Elias, Thomas N. and Daniel, daughters Mary, Sarah, Mehitable, and Sene; wife Mary Clark and Timothy Goodsell, executors [Woodbury P. R. 9:181]. On Apr. 16, 1794, Mehitable Clark, aged about 17, and Elias Clark, aged about 14, children of Samuel Clark late of Washington, deceased, chose Timothy Goodsell of Washington as their guardian, and Timothy Goodsell was appointed guardian to Thomas Newton Clark, Daniel Clark, and Sena Clark, children of Samuel Clark late of Washington, deceased [Ibid., 9:183].

    On Apr. 25, 1797, Timothy Goodsell was appointed administrator of the estate of Samuel Clark, 2nd, of Washington; distribution to Elias Clark, Thos N. Clark, Mary Clark, Sarah Kinne, Mehitable Clark, Sena Clark, and Daniel Clark [Ibid., 9:261]. It is not known why Timothy Goodsell took so much interest in this family, …"
