    After moving to Israel at the age of 18, Salo started, after some years, a saw workshop, it still exists today (2000), "MENUSEH".

    At some time after WWII he changed the family name to LEVI. Since, religiously all Jews belong to one of three sects/tribes: Cohan (priests), Levi (Temple workers) or Israel (just people). Since his family was quite religious, this name tells that.
