CLINTON ? September 1865 [1865] Sept. 1. At 4*40' [At Salamanca:] A.M. started from the Hotel & walked through Big Valley, 3 miles, to Salmon Porter's, 4 miles further, & got there at about 7*. Approaching Big Valley, took specimen of Helianthus giganteus? Salmon Porter died 7 June last. His widow &c. have sold the farm. Breakfasted there, & left at about 7*45' & commenced ascending to the City. References
