↑ Besides giving Ruth to the wrong father, Thomas Sr., instead of her correct father, Thomas Jr., Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. History of Grafton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, p. 571, gives her a death date of 13 Sep 1756. This is actually the death of Thomas Sr.'s daughter Ruth, 13 Sep 1736, silently changed to 1756 to fit Pierce's incorrect parentage. Thomas Sr.'s daughter Ruth was not born in Grafton, so apparently Pierce was unaware of her, but changing the death date without comment is clearly bad practice.
