Ruth E. (Hollihan) Stranko, 97, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, at her residence. Born Aug. 7, 1919, in Crabtree, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Frances (Loughner) Hollihan. Ruth was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown, had been a member of the Rosary Altar Society and taught CCD. She was retired from Stanley Home Products Inc. and Home Interior and Gifts Inc. Ruth enjoyed gardening, painting and interior design and was an excellent seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen F. Stranko, and three brothers, Paul, Robert and Charles Kobistek. Ruth is survived by two sons, Kenneth S. Stranko and his wife Pam, of Winchester, Ind., and Charles A. Stranko, of Blackhawk, Colo.; one daughter, Tina M. Dick and her husband Howard, of Latrobe; six grandchildren, Eric, Jennifer, Scott, Heather, Nicole and Kevin; 12 great-grandchildren; and she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
