    Ruth Hemingway, b. 21 September 1638 [RVR Ms 2]; bur. Roxbury 18 July 1684 (RChR 185]. (On 28 July 1674 Edward Peggy was in Suffolk Court for "using indirect means by powders or other ways unlawful to engage ihe affections or desires of women kind to him & for begetting Ruth Henningway of Roxbury with child," and at the same court "Ruth Henningway is ordered to renew her bonds for her appearance at the next Court" [SCC 1:485-6]. On 24 September 1674 Ruth Hemingway was excommunicated from Roxbury church [RChR 212]. "Ralph Henningway" and Joshua "Hews" Sr. went to court 27 October 1674 and declared that "Ruth Henningway" was "not yet delivered' and they desired the case be continued until next court [SCC 1:517].)
