Donald Arlie Bastin has a genealogy research report from Mrs. Ethel J. Hunt, 116 S. Pearl St., Paola, KS dated 6/8/1985; part of Vera Bastins files. It reports three graves located in Bucyrus Cemetary, Richland Township, Section 3. Listed are the following: Edmund C. Bastin 1855 - 1918 Rose C. Hines 3/6/1873 - 5/20/1961 Edmund Bastin (no dates)

My theory is that Rose C. Scarf was Edmunds second wife, presuming Sarah died sometime after 1887, when Hassa was born. (ca. 1890). Rose outlived Edmund, apparently had a child named Edmund, and remarried a man named Hines. The lack of dates on Edmund Jr's. tombstone indicates a brief life.

Edith Greenside, Edith Edna Bastin's daughter, reports that Rose Haffelbaur married Edmund around 1917. Edmund had divorced his first wife Sarah around 1910 - 1912.
