Roscoe Brown Conkling, son of Edgar Clark and Loida (Brown) Conkling was born on 14 May 1897 in Windfall (Tipton County), Indiana. At time of his marriage, he listed his occupation as "explosive man", but later worked as a postal clerk. On 6 June 1920 he married Olive Cleopatra Green, daughter of Lawrence W. and Harriet (Stillwell) Green. They were married in Grant County, Indiana. Olive was usually called Cleo. Cleo was born on 15 February 1989 in Green Township, Indiana. She died on 26 December 1995. Roscoe died on 25 August 1972 in Marion (Grant County) Indiana. They are buried in Grant Memorial Park.
