1957 & 1960 Bangor Directory lists him as a teacher at the Fruit Street School, living at 250 French. 1965 Bangor Directory shows him living on Hogan Road, still teaching at the Fruit Street School.

WARDWELL, ROBERT R., 83, of Largo, died Wednesday (Dec. 24, 1997) at Mariner Health Care of Belleair. He was born in Penobscot, Maine, and came here in 1977 from Bangor, Maine. He worked 30 years in the Bangor Public School System as a teacher and principal. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He was a 1936 graduate for Eastern State Normal School, Castine, Maine, and received his master's degree in education from the University of Maine at Orono. He was a member of Maine Teachers Association and the National Education Association and Masonic Lodge 4, Hancock County, Maine. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary; a son, David, Brewer, Maine; two daughters, Linda Kilbourn, London, Ontario, and Sally Foster, Gardiner, Maine; a brother, Donald, Bucksport, Maine; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
