- ↑ Robert Lloyd Pettypiece Died June 29, 2000 SHELBY TOWNSHIP - Robert Lloyd Pettypiece, of Shelby Township, died Thursday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born Dec. 27, 1938, in Amherstburg, Ontario, he was the son of Lloyd and Winifred (Kemp) Pettypiece.
He was the loving husband of Judith (Abbott); loving father to Steven (Maryann), Cheryl and Michael; loving grandfather to Sean and Tamara; and loving brother to sisters Kathleen (Ross) Dowswell and Margaret Gregory.
Bob earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Lawrence Technological University in 1970 and a master of science in computer science from Wayne State University in 1975. He started his career at General Motors in 1963 as an analysis engineer at the Warren Technical Center. He worked in the engineering organization at GM until transferring to Electronic Data Systems in 1984. He retired from EDS as a regional manager of Publishing Services in 1996. Since retiring, Bob taught at many local universities in the curriculum of computer science. Bob and Judy spent summers at their home in Traverse City, where Bob was the treasurer of the Long Lake Peninsula Association.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 2, at Wujek Calcaterra in Shelby Township. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Amherstburg, Ontario.
