Kemp, Robert Died May 4, 1918, Deuchers, Indiana.

Robert Kemp, an old and respected citizen of Boone township, died suddenly at his home near Deuchers, Friday morning at an early hour, cause of death was due to organic heart trouble from which he suffered at times for several years. Mr. Kemp had been in Alton Thursday afternoon, seemingly in the best of good health on climbing into his buggy preparatory to leaving, the horses started unexpectedly throwing him backward to the ground where the buggy was dragged across his chest before the horses could be checked. On rising Mr. Kemp, complained of bad pains in his breast, but seemed to recover almost immediately from the effects of the fall. On the following morning he arose at his usual hour and tended the livestock, but when sitting down to his breakfast he complained of pain and weakness. He had taken only a swallow of coffee when he rose walked to his bed and fell dying instantly. Besides his wife, Mr. Kemp is survived by two sons, Sylvester, and John the latter in the U.S. Army service in N.Y. camp, by one sister, Mrs William Ridge, and one brother, Greenberry Kemp of Alton. The body was interred at the Riddle cemetery, Saturday afternoon.
