Robert "Bob" Henline, 79, Gibsonburg, died Thursday at Hospice of Northwest OH, Perrysburg.

He was born to John and Mae (Brubaker) Henline in Gibsonburg. Bob graduated from Gibsonburg High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe, participating in the Battle of the Bulge. On Aug. 22, 1947, he married Susan Donnels, and she survives.

Bob was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Sandusky CO Sportsman Association and OH Angus Association. He enjoyed working with children as a Little League coach and 4-H advisor, but was most proud of his 43 years as athletic timer for Gibsonburg High School.

Also surviving is a son, Jim (Kate) Henline, Lindsey; two grandchildren, Josh (Andrea) Henline, Rossford and Rachel (Jim) Auld, Lindsey; three step-grandchildren, Kim (Mike) Simon, Indianapolis, Gretchen (Tony) Grolle, Gibsonburg and Amanda (Brian) Thieman, Indianapolis; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Willis "Bill" Henline.

Bob's remains have been donated to the Medical College of OH.

Visitation: Noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg.

Service: A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Clink officiating.

Memorials: To Green Creek Wildlife Society, Gibsonburg Educational Foundation or to the donor's choice.
