Robert L. "Bob" Heberling, 78, of Fremont died Tuesday morning at Memori al Hospital.

He was born in Helena to Wilbert and Hazel (Nelson) Heberling. Bob attend ed Gibsonburg schools and served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army duri ng World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1949 and later servi ng in the Reserves. He married Mary Lou Newman on Oct. 3, 1950, and she su rvives.

Robert worked for the Sunshine Biscuit Co. for 45 years, retiring in 199 0. He also farmed most of his life, retiring in 1993. He was a member of t he Fremont Eagles.

He is survived by children, Bill, Rick (Deborah), Gary and Tommy Heberlin g, all of Fremont, and Barb (Wayne) Collins of Risingsun; former daughter- in-law, Jamie Heberling of Fremont; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildr en; and sister, Beatrice Binkley of Indiana. He is preceded by his parent s, infant son, Ronnie, brothers, Dale and Raymond, infant sisters, Hazel a nd Gladys, and great-grandson, Samuel Stover.

Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Serv ices, Fremont. Eagles services: 7:30 p.m.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Gruetter off iciating.

Burial: Bradner Cemetery with military services by the Fremont American Le gion and VFW.
