    Robert W. Harper, 77, of North Huntingdon, died Friday, May 23, 2003, in his home. He was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Irwin, a son of the late William H. and Sara (Loughner) Harper. He retired in 1989 as produce specialist for SuperValu Inc., Belle Vernon, and was formerly employed by the A&P Food Stores for 35 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Irwin, where he was a former member of the church council. He was a 50-year member of Shidle Lodge 601 F&AM in Irwin, and a charter member of the Bromas Club. He was a 50-year member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh, and Syria Temple. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of VFW Post 781 in Irwin and the 69th Infantry Division Association. He was a 1943 graduate of Norwin High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Harper.

Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. Service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Clifton J. Suehr officiating. Interment will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery, with military honors. Masonic service will be held Saturday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
