Hall says that “Robert Bolling Hall” [one person] is a son of John Hall and Anne Bolling; “He signs his name Robert on official documents, but was generally known as Bolling.”  This assertion is in error -- the will of John Hall of Edgecombe Co., NC,  names two separate and distinct sons -- Robert and Bolling. *Perhaps* Robert Hall had the middle name "Bolling," but Bolling Hall, son of John Hall and Anne Bolling is a separate and distinct person.]
