Robert F. Depinet, 78, of 9172 E. TR 106, Bloomville, died Tuesday evening, June 7, 2005, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born May 5, 1927, in Bascom to Alvin and Regina (Hoover) Depinet. On June 25, 1949, in Frenchtown, he married Millie Kirian and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Ron Depinet and Bob (Barb) Depinet, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. Sandy (Jim) Bell of Rossford and Mrs. Cindy (Jim) Albanese of Westerville; eight grandchildren, Ashlie, April, Tara and Megan Depinet of Tiffin, Michael and Jimmy Bell of Rossford and Tyler and Kelsey Albanese of Westerville; three brothers, Richard (Rosie) Depinet of Republic, Joe (Pat) Depinet and Paul (Jane) Depinet, all of Tiffin; four sisters, Florence Brose, Rita (Gene) Brown, Kathy (Dwight) Kimble, all of Tiffin and Alma (Robert) Brandt of Bascom; and a brother-in-law, Orland Schreiner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ruth Schreiner and a brother-in-law, Virgil Brose.

Mr. Depinet was a farmer and worked for 34 years at Union Carbide in Fostoria, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Republic and had served on the church council, a World War II Navy Veteran, a member of Wade Benfer American Legion Post 404 in Republic. He served on the Republic Elevator Board of Directors and as the Republic Baseball Commissioner. His hobbies and enjoyments were his family, grandchildren, fishing, playing cards, doing puzzles, sports, farming and doing his bookkeeping.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Republic, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be in Farewell Retreat Cemetery in Republic. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Wade Benfer American Legion Post 404 in Republic.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, June 10, 2005, at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville. The rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Association or for a Mass.
