NOT PROVEN From Baltimore County, Maryland Tax Lists ( 1699-1706): 1702 - Richard Shipley ( Elk Ridge Hundred) 1703 - Richard Shipley ( Elk Ridge Hundred) 1704 - Richard Shipley ( Elk Ridge Hundred) 1705 - Richard Shipley ( Elk Ridge Hundred) 1706 - Richard Shipley ( Elk Ridge Hundred) Elk Ridge Hundred was a tract of land which was on the upper side of Anne Arundel County. He was in Baltimore County by 1716. Richard wrote a will dated 5 Oct 1724, leaving tract Adam the First equally to four sons, Adam, Richard, Samuel and Peter (all under 21), to be divided after the decease of their mother and when the eldest came to the age of 21 years. Said sons were to dispose of the land only to one another. Should any die during their minority, the survivors were to divide the estate. 25 acres of Brother Partnership, laid out on a point next to Horsehead of "Talbot's Resolution mannor", went to his daughter, Lewis (Lois). The will named widow Susanna and Benjamin Stevens executors and brother Robert overseer. Administrative bond was posted 2 Aug 1725 by Suanna Shipley with Robert Shipley. The estate was inventoried on 30 Nov 1725 by Jos'h Dorsey and John Dorsey and val at 147.3.6 and signed by Susanna Shipley. extrx. with Peter and Robert Shipley, bros. of the dec.
