    The Madill News April 17, 1908:
    "Mr. Roy living in the Yellow Hill neighborhood was struck with paralysis one day last week. His condition is serious."

    "R.M. Roy of near Durwood died the first of the week. He was seized by a stroke of paralysis several weeks ago and has been almost helpless since. He had lived to the age of about 60 and had the name of not having lived in vain. He had the respect and confidence of his neighbors."

    April 24, 1908
    "R.M. Roy died at his home on the 14th, sick about a month. Survived by wife, one daughter and 3 sons all grown. Had 3 grandchildren living with him. Been in this part of country about 5 years. Came from Arkansas. Was a member of McMillan Lodge No. 48 I.O.O.F. and was buried by that body at McMillan Cemetary."

    April 24, 1908:
    There has been rain in McMillan every day for 3 weeks straight.
