  6. 6.0 6.1 Assuming Ensign Richard Park is the same man, the age at death of 52 would seem to suggest that the death occurred in 1748 because his birth was 1696. The town record of Esther's death in 1746 says "w. Richard", but the Hyde Diary calls her "wid. Ens. Richard". Her gravestone says "wife". Since her death was 28 Dec 1746, whether she was wife or widow would help decide whether Richard's death was 1746 (before her) or 1748 (after her). The probate record seems to suggest it was 1746, but it should be examined for details.
