   Richard L. Newquist, 78, of Oswego, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Friday, December 10, 2004 at Hillside Care Center in Yorkville. He was born March 2, 1926 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Arthur and Hilda (Schumann) Newquist.
   Nick graduated from West Aurora High School in 1944 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater, during World War II. Upon leaving the service, he attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, MI, graduating in 1949, where he met his wife of 55 years, Jane Walding Newquist. Nick and his father owned and operated Newquist Pontiac in Aurora for 35 years. He was most recently employed by Dyer Auto Auction in Dyer, IN, for 13 years. He was a member of the Aurora V.F.W. Post #9574 and American Legion #84.
   He is survived by his wife, Jane of Oswego; three daughters, Nancy (Michael) Donahue of Clinton, IA, Janet (Michael) Boraca of Streamwood, IL and Sherri Newquist-Gray of Streamwood, IL; granddaughter, Amanda Lee Boraca; step-granddaughter, Michelle Donahue.
   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Waldo.
   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2004, 3:00 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, with Rev. Dr. Tracy smith Malone of Wesley Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday, 1:00 PM at the funeral home, until the time of service.
