He acquired a considerable landed estate in Suffolk, chiefly by purchase from 1558 on. He lived in a house called Fryettes in Moulton, which he had bought from the executors of one Roger Fryette, and which was afterward called the "mansion house" of his eldest son George Moody. He left two wills, made 14 Jan 1572/3 and 2 Feb. 1572/3; after the former had been proved 30 Apr 1574, the widow presented the later will, and on 10 June 1574, the first one was annulled and the later one proved.[3]
