From OBR, pg 315: "Dick is our only child. He was graduated from Butler University in June 1941. Enlisted in Navy in July 1941 as an Aviation Cadet. Comissioned an Ensign in Navel Air Corps in 1942. Served on the Saratoga in the early part of the Was in the Pacific and South Pacific, and with the British fleet in the Indian Ocean. Married Constance Keller, daughter of Lt. Col. and Mrs. W. H. Keller here in Indianapolis in 1942. They have no children.

Is making the Navy his career, now Fighter Bomber Pilot, located in Alemeda, California. Was decorated for his part in the attack on Raboul in 1943, and at present (1947) is a Lt. (senior grade) in the regular Navy."
