Son and heir of Richard Hill. 1620 - Possible Baptism: Richus HYLL, son of Richi HYLL. 1642-1649 - M.P. for Truro. Richard was a cordwainer, established in Lime Street in the City of London. He became a prosperous merchant, who was one of the Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom, set up at the Guildhall, London on 14 November 1642. He was also one of the Treasurers of Sequestrations at the Guildhall and one of the Commissioners for Prizes taken in the Dutch war. He became alderman of Candlewick ward of the City of London in 1654 and was Master of the Cordwainers' Company in 1655. 1659/60 - Burial: Richard HILL Esqr of this parish was buried ye eighteene? day of January.
