It seems likely that the elderly James and Mary Cooper next door on the 1850 census are Richard's parents?

He also appears to have been married before and had his first son in Ohio with the first wife. Had this family known the Babcocks back in Ohio?

In 1860 Angeline does not appear in the household - did she die young? Her mama (Belinda Jones Babcock Finch) is with Richard and the children though she is just grouped as a Cooper.

    Angeline is not in the household - did she die young? Richard is only 5 years older in 1860 than he was in 1850
