Reuben Parkinson, who was a student at Princeton, enlisted with the Somerset county militia and was sergeant in Capt. Ganen McCoy's company, Col. Stephen Hunt's regiment, afterwards commanded by Col. Frederick Frelinghuysen. He was at the battles of Princeton and Monmouth and served four years. He was born at Londonderry, N.H., in 1757 and died at Carlisle, N.Y., in 1834.
