    Unionville Republican, 23 September 1891
Reuben Beary, farmer and stock raiser, was born in Lehigh county, Penn., October 19, 1910, and departed this life September 15, 1891, aged eighty years, ten months, and twenty-six days. He joined the Methodist church in the year 1850 and remained a member of the same until he moved to the state of Missouri in 1856, there being no church of his choice, he united with the U.B. church in the year 1857, and was a consistent member of that church until God called him to his reward in heaven. In the dark days of the rebellion he was a thoroughly loyal man and sent the son who was old enough to defend the Union. He leaves an aged wife, five daughters and two sons to mourn his death. The funeral was conducted by Rev. D.E. Statton, and his remains were interred in the St. John cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
