  2.   Rena Heimstra Brandsma is the source of much of the information about the Heimstra family. With her niece, Margaret Knorr, around 1978, they researched and recorded the family history. Info Nan Johnson

    Rena married Abe Brandsma on March 17, 1921. It appears they had five children, four surviving to adulthood. The Brandsmas moved not far from LeMars, but crossed state lines in to South Dakota. They probably farmed near Canton, South Dakota, where Abe died Sept. 20, 1978,
