Technical Sergeant Raymond Romsaas is the son of immigrant Emil Eriksen Sygard Romsaas. He enlisted in the US Army on 14 April 1942 at Fort Snelling, Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was trained as a Clerk, Non Typist (055) and assigned to the 31st Mobile Reclamation Repair Squadron. He left Ft. Snelling by train for Williams Army Air Field near Phoenix, Arizona. Ajo Gunnary base was for pilots to practice weapons delivery. In November 1944, T/Sgt Romsaas was transferred back to Williams Field, Chandler, Arizona.
