RONALD P. CHANDLER, 56, Orondo, died in a local hospital Thursday evening following an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 29, 1914 at Orondo.

Mr. Chandler grew up in Orondo and attended school there and graduated from Wenatchee High School. He married Cecile Millhorn Nov. 26, 1938 in Spokane.

He lived at Stewart Lake, Idaho, where he owned and operated a freight line and later moved to Spokane, where he was manager of Eckert Freight Line. He later purchased his own freight line which he operated until 1948.

Following the death of his father he operated the Orondo Ferry until 1960. At the time of his death he owned and operated a service station in East Wenatchee.

Mr. Chandler was a member of the Orondo Community Church.

Surviving are his wife, at home; one son Richard Perry Chandler, Federal Way; one daughter Mrs. Carol Wills Lusby, Md.; three brothers, Morris Chandler, New York, Howard Chandler, Seattle and Ernest Chandler, Leavenworth; three sisters Mrs. Vera Whyatt, Longview, Mrs. Doris Berg, in Minnesota, and Mrs. Fern Almquist, Republic; his mother, Mrs. Emma Chandler, Orondo, and one grandchild.
