↑ Note: Whitmore, William H. "Capt. Hopestill Foster of Dorchester, Mass., and Some of His Descendants", NEHGR, p. 52, p. 200, claims her gravestone says she died 6 Mar 1732, aged 46 y. 6 m. 21 d. Find A Grave gives an inscription that says the same, but has no image to confirm it is a correct reading. Note, of course, that for this 1732 date to be valid, it would have to be 6 Mar 1732/33 as her son was born 31 Mar 1732. Since her husband remarried 9 Oct 1740, it seems probable that the gravestone has been misread, 1739 mistaken for 1732. Further that age at death combined with a death in 1732/33 would work out to a birth in 1686/87, which when compared to her husband's birth in 1698, seems improbable, further suggesting the town records are, indeed, correct.
