Indenture 26 July 1813 Between Priscilla Dunn and Amelia Ann Dunn of Jefferson County, Kentucky, Priscilla Dunn being the widow of Abner Martin Dunn who died intestate; and mother of Willys Dunn and Isaac H. B. Dunn, sons of said Abner who are also dead, and died intestate without Issue, and said Amelia being the daughter of said Abner and Priscilla and sister of said Willys and Isaac And David Hoops father of John Syme Hoops who is dead and died without Issue, intestate Priscilla and Amelia were paid $1.00 by David Hoops for a part of Lot #27 of the Illinois Grant, Clark County, Indiana Territory . . . . First page: New Albany, Indiana Priscilla Dunn, widow of Abner Dunn who died previous to 1800 of Clark county in the state of Indiana who was a Lieutenant in the com--- commanded Captain --- of the Reg't commanded Col Patton in the Pa for 2 years. Inscribed in the Roll of New Albany, Ina the rate of 320 dollars ~ cents per annum, commence on the 4th day of March 1836. Certificate of pension issued in the 18th day of - 1839 and sent - Hon. G. H. Dunn House(?) of Reps. Arrears to the 4th of September 1838 $800.00 --- annual allowance ending 4 Mar '39 160.00 Total: $960.00 Second page: Letter to T. Ware Gibson 29 March 1839 Ditto to Hon G. H. Dunn 8 April 1839 Duplicate certificate issued 17 April 1839 and sent to --- Charlestown, Clarke county, Indiana Third page: Certificate of commission Abner Dunn as first lieutenant Regiment of Foot (?) commanded by Col John Patton. Signed by John Hancock, president, 14 January 1777 Further on a copy of a letter from G. H. Dunn to - L. Edwards, Commissioner of Pensions, Washington, D. C. which states that records of the war department show Abner Dunn served to the end of the war and received his bounty lands and c-mm-lations (commendations?), Several affidavits attesting to the fact that T. Ware Gibson lost the original pension certificate and that Priscilla Dunn is who she says she is. An affidavit of particular interest was one of George Gordon, state of Ohio, Hamilton county. States he was well acquainted with Abner M. Dunn in the City of Cincinnati and State of Ohio sometime in the year 1796 or 1795 and that he was present at the funeral of Abner M. Dunn who was buried in the year '96 or '97 in the city of Cincinnati. s/ 8December
