Priscilla Hurff

Priscilla Hurff was originally called Ursula Harff. In 1785 when David Roe made his will he stipulated therein: "To my wife Osella, the house and 20 acres of land where I live, and, after her death, to the heirs of my body; but if she leaves no heirs, then to Osella Hurf, daughter od Conrad Hurf." That she did not recieve the land is shown by the quit claim signed by Issac Bedelion and his wife Osella, who signed off for £100. Ursula, which is German, later becameknown as Priscilla Beckley, and leaves to her £20. She Married David Bechtle, later spelled Beckley, at the German Reformed Church, Philadelphia, PA. He was a wheelwright and had his shop on the Westerly side of what was then termed the "Landing Road" and now known as Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ. The land owned by him at this location contained two acres and ran back a distance of 541.20 feet. She is Probably buried in the Blackwood (NJ)Presbyterian Church Cementery Gen Book Page-64 (Begins on Page 71) Gen No-III Pers No-8
