Pierre BERNARD, born in 1731, son of Jean-Baptiste & Cécile GAUDET of Beaubassin, married 1st to Marguerite ARCENEAUX; three children. Pierre married 2nd at St. James parish, LA on 13 Jun 1770 to Cécile BERGERON (widow of Joseph DUGAS), daughter of Barthelemy & Marguerite DUGAS; two children.

Entered as Pier BERNAR [sic], with his wife and six children on the List of French Acadians kept prisoner by the British at Halifax, dated 12 Aug 1763. A note says he was married to Marguerite ARSENAULT; that he was at St. James, LA in 1766 with three children, and married 2nd in 1777 to Cécile BERGERON (widow DUGAS).

Pierre may also (along with brother Michel) have come to Louisiana with Joseph Broussard and then fled to Cabanocey in the Fall of 1765 where he is found in the 1766 census.
