This obituary was contributed to Find-a-Grave by Ray Flesher: Obituary: Mrs Phoebe Ellen HIGGINS, 89, a resident of Sioux City 48 years died Wed morning in her home at 1307 Grandview Blvd after a brief sickness. Mrs. HIGGINS was born 26 Jan 1848 at Spring Creek IL. She was married in 1867 at Chatsworth, Livingston Co, IL to Peter HIGGINS. The couple came to Sioux City in 1889. Mr. HIGGINS preceded his wife in death here 24 years ago. Mrs. HIGGINS was a member of the LDS ch. Surviving are two sons, W. J. HIGGINS of Sioux City and Charles HIGGINS of Los Angeles CA; three daughters, Mrs. E. W. TRAVIS of Independence MO, Mrs. G. H. CLARIDGE and Mrs Ada TROWL, both of Sioux City; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
