Obituaries MRS.WILLIAM SHAFFER Mrs. Phoebe H. Shaffer, 82, of 908 Fourth St. SW, died today in Westbrook Park nursing home after a long illness. Survivors include three sons, four daughters and one brother. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Reed funeral home with burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Callers 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Source: Canton Repository, Monday, April 22, 1974, pg 9. SHAFFER Mrs. Phoebe H., 82, of 908 4th st. SW passed away early Monday morning in Westbrook Park Nursing Home. Her death was due to complications following a four month illness. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, she had been a resident of Canton for the past 55 years. Her husband, William H. Shaffer preceded her in death. She was a member of 1st Christian Church, Christian Co-Workers Sunday School Class and Home League of the Salvation Army. Survivors include three sons, John W. Shaffer, Charles F. Shaffer and Walter Martin all of Canton. Four daughters Mrs. Herbert (Phoebe) King, Mrs. Edward (Dora) Haas, Mrs. Wendell (Pearl) Krider all of Canton and Mrs. Gertrude Peach of Lore City, Ohio. A brother William Beach of Youngstown, Ohio. There are 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. E. Richard Crabtree officiating.
