Obituary? 23 Nov 1914 Obit in The Cambridge Daily Banner, Monday 23 Nov 1914Obit in The Daily Banner, Monday 23 Nov 1914: Philip I. LeCompte formerly of Castle Haven, but for the past few years a resident of Baltimore died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.N. Collison aged 78 years. Body brought to Cambridge & interment in Cambridge Cemetery last Wednesday. Leaves 9 children: Samuel & Philip LeCompte, Mrs. Walter League & Mrs. J.N. Collison, both of Baltimore, Mrs. C.C. Hansel of Monteray, VA, Mrs. D.B. Leonard of Royal Oak, Mrs. John Reeder of New York & Mrs. Joseph Mackin & Mrs. James M. Richardson of Lloyds. Additional Information: Samuel Eaton LeCompte recorded that Phillip Isiah LeCompte was the last one of the LeCompte Family to own the ancestral home in Castle Haven. (According to family records the family was the last to live in the home known as St. Anthony's, it is doubtful that the family ever lived at the current home known as Castle Haven; it is more likely that they lived along LeCompte's Creek which is where St. Anthony's was located.) Reportedly, the home known as St. Anthony's burned down in 1895 according to my grandmother's records. Other researchers report that the fire was actually caused by Selena Warren LeCompte Richardson (set or caused, I don't know), one of my grandmother's older sisters (John Frederick LeCompte Reeder). It appears that the above Mrs. Joseph Mackin is Mary Elizabeth LeCompte North (Mackin?).
Burial[1] 16 Nov 1914 Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge, Dorchester, Maryland
