    Galpin, Philip. Married (1) at New Haven, shortly after June 1646, Elizabeth Smith, who had been servant of Mrs. Leech. Married (2) Hannah Jackson, dau. of Henry of Fairfield, whose will 1682 called her Hannah Galpin; she m. (2) Stephen Sherwood.
    He removed to Fairfield 1657, and to Rye by 1665. Will 27 Mar. 1684, proved 19 Nov. 1684; wife; son John and his eldest son John; sons Samuel, Benjamin, Joseph, Jeremiah, Moses; daus. Sarah, Hannah; the rest of my daus., five shillings apiece; overseers, Thomas Lyon, Sr., and Gershom Lockwood.
