Soldiers in King Philip's War (p. 419), grants in Narraganset No. 2 (Westminster) go to Joseph Bowman, son-in-law, for John Barnard; and Joseph Bowman, niece's husband, for James Barnard. The record for James identifies John Barnard, as the son of John and Phebe Barnard, and so shows Joseph Bowman married Phebe Barnard, daughter of that John who m. Sarah Flemming.
