Revolutionary War Veteran. In Captain Henry Abbot's Company at alarm of April 19, 1775, served one and a half days. In Andover at 1790 census which shows 1 male over 16, 2 under 16 and 3 females in his household. He came to Otisfield soon after 1793 and settled on Phillips Gore, on Lot 16, Range 8, which he bought of Samuel Phillips, deed dated 04 November 1801, con. $200, 118 acres.- History of Otisfield, Cumberland, Maine from the original grant to the close of the year 1944, Oxford, Me, William Samuel Spurr, 1953 Became a member of the Andover South Church on 03 March 1776, discharged 09 September 1786. The Massachusetts and Maine 1798 Direct Tax shows him the occupant of land owned by Samuel Phillips lying between Otisfield and Hebron. References
